Grand Media Log: Day 34
MIND MGMT: The Mind Managment Comprehensive Report 2 of 3
Matt Kindt
Comic
While I basically loved the first Comprehensive report with its all out assault of storytelling trickery, I am starting to lose the plot in all the ways. There seems to be some intentional spilling into actively confusing gaps in the narrative and particularly in the first half of this Report it was hard to orient myself. That being said, some of the weird cool elements like multiple stories playing out at once, overlapping comic panels and text inscribed sideways, etc are still as engaging as ever. I still am invested but feel like there might’ve been a issue or two that was somehow missing between Report 1 and 2.
Anyone who shit talks the art though? Thrown in a lake.

Film
Starring of all people Bjork, this is an Icelandic black and white adaptation of a Grimm Brother’s fairy tale that I am unfamiliar with. As is apparent from looking at stills this is a beautiful film, the black and white pallette making the already breathaking landscapes of Iceland somehow ever more appealing. However I will say that nothing else really worked, outside of looking pretty the cinematography was meh and the script was far too bare-bones for my liking, though my general distate for weird cultural rituals might be bleeding through a bit here. Idk
Started Shadowun Hong Kong and it’s solid thus far, as well as a big collection of Jorge Luis Borges short stories that I’ll be going through a few a day. Will say more if any of them stand out.
